Eternal Divinity by Luisa Romero de Johnston |

The Universe is creation the activity of a magnificent entity that
creates from Itself and within Itself an unceasing activity in which
all that exists participates. In some magical, marvelous instant a supreme power initiated an act that
had to become manifest in something. And that something, for lack of a
better name, is called the Universe. That first impulse, infinitely multiplied through
a demonstration of inexhaustible power, continuously gives shape to an
ongoing wave of creation in which all that is created takes part. Be it
an atom, a man, or a galaxy, each continuously creates, each one within
its own sphere of action, thus maintaining the presence and continuity
of Life according to the capacity conferred on it by its position on the
scale of existential process. In this way, each part contributes to the
Whole and, eventually, in compliance with the Law, is reintegrated into
the Whole. Assimilating these concepts leads us to an
understanding of the basic principle: God, the Creator, exists in
everything, and nothing exists outside of Him. And this adds light to
our reflection on the promise inherent in the keynote: Mans
divinity always triumphs out of the chaos of his own creations. In addition, this keynote speaks to us about a fundamental concept,
without which it would be impossible to conceive of the Eternal, that
which constantly creates Itself from Itself: the condition of
incorruptibility that is inherent in divinity. It speaks to us about the essence, the spiritual
genetic code that remains true to Itself, equal to Itself, and
that emerges untouched by the experience of its immersion in dense
matter. The subtle is redeemed from the chaos of its opposite, winning
out over its hard passage through materialization. If we reflect on how the subtle can become dense
without losing its own properties, we have to conclude by recognizing
that its only possible because denseness is only a modality, a
representation albeit imperfect of that which it expresses
within itself. Divinity is the Life that animates all without losing its
purity and, thus, in animating matter, retains for Itself Its
immateriality. That quality of purity, of faithfulness to Its own essence, of
immutability that resists the diversity of expression, is the guaranty
that everything returns to the Source, the guaranty of the reunification
of diversity in Unity. For that reason, man, as a being created in
the image and likeness of God, holds within himself the potential of
transcending his inferior condition and attaining what corresponds to
him by heritage and by Law. Nevertheless, the process involves a tremendous and continuous effort,
since man is marked by the traces of the involutionary process, in which
pure spirit becomes veiled by the form. And now he must build the path
of return by inverting the process, creating conditions of increasing
tension in order to provide the necessary vibratory states that make it
possible to become like those prototypes already in existence on the
evolutionary scale that humanity as a group must follow in order to
regain its original spiritual state of being. In essence, we have a son of God trying to become like the Father
because such is the divine mandate who confronts the limitations of
his inferior condition: immersed in the obscurity of his ignorance,
prisoner of his own smallness, and victim of the conditions formed by
the passage of eons of involutionary action. The descent of Spirit into matter, the so-called materialization of
the Monad, buries the Divine Spark within the darkness of dense
matter. As a result, there is a weakening of that stimulating impact
wielded by the Monad in His sphere of action. Spirit limits Itself in
matter and diminishes Its capacity for action and Its relationship to
all that receive Its influence. The Soul the incarnated spirit
is wrapped in inferior forms that compromise Its capacity for
self-identification and distort Its function as a source of
enlightenment; matter circumscribes it on all sides, rendering it
incapable of reaching the subtle worlds. Man is a prisoner within the deception of unreality, a captive of what
esoteric science calls Maya, Glamor and Illusion; and this condition is
a result of the imperfect expression of the higher Self in form, whether
it be the form of man himself, his environment or the world in which he
moves. Sorrowfully, this imprisonment also confines the Soul in the
initial stage of Its experience as a Son of God incarnated, because
incarnation strongly distorts the divine qualities of the Soul Itself,
even though the Soul is also the medium by which matter can be redeemed,
an experiential process that also enriches the Soul. Under these conditions, the human being, a creator unavoidably and
in obedience to the Law can only manifest thoughtforms of inferior
value due to his burden of ignorance, incapability and inexperience. He
creates in the wrong way, in a dissonant and inharmonious manner that is
contrary to Order and the Laws; he produces disastrous results and puts
in motion effects that will turn against him. But wise is the Law and generous is divine goodness; among the many
forms of stimulus at play within the divine order, pain and suffering
have a prominent place. By this means human conduct is gradually revised
and rectified, and we are inevitably led toward the path of return. As per the esoteric teachings of the Master Djwhal Khul in the book Glamour:
a World Problem, Man only becomes aware of reality when he has
destroyed that which he has himself created. (p. 200) Bitter experience: To return by the same path To find only shadows But now the moment of rectification has arrived it is time to remain
silent and know how to listen. Now there is a reordering of fundamental
components: the form, the personality, working toward its
spiritualization, becomes more sensitive to the call of the Soul, and
the Soul begins to regain its spiritual power and consequent influence
over the inferior being. A fluid and harmonious relationship is created
that gradually facilitates the return to its original state, the
approach and return to the pure spiritual state from which it had
embarked. Throughout this entire process involution, evolution, refinement,
condensation, sound and silence the continuity of the golden
thread has never ceased to exist. This continuity is the power behind
everything, the Life that animates the process of going forth and
returning, the intention behind expression and abstraction. It is the
guaranty that our trip across the Cosmos as delayed, difficult and
complicated as it may seem to us will come to its rightful
conclusion for every son of God. |
